Besides Thailand’s leading positions in almost any aspect of tourism, we can say that Thailand is the leading destination for spa tourism at least in Asia. This comes as a result of the Thai hospitality, Thai nature, unique spa treatments and techniques and last but not least low prices. In 2002 there were 2.5 million foreign visitors using spa opportunities in Thailand spending about 85 million US Dollars. Even it can be said that spa tourism is gaining more and more popularity and at the same time tour agencies are making more and more spa tourism packages providing the traveler with longer options’ list to choose from.
Top spa destinations in Thailand are Phuket, Pattaya, Koh Samui, Bangkok, Chiang Mai and almost any hotel or resort there have something to offer when speaking about spa treatments and wellness. Most people that have visited Thailand and been to a Thai spa claim that only when you have experienced Thai spa treatment, you can say that you have been to Thailand. Or at least, if you don’t have enough time, you can just go to one of the following - one-hour spa massage, body spa massage, oriental spa treatment or facial spa.
